Origin:  Rind Village, Vayotz Dzor Region  – Armenia
Climate:  A great year characterized by a long, hot summer with high day-time temperatures  and strong sunlight balanced with cool fresh nights with average thermal excursion of 20°C .
Soil:   A Phylloxera free terroir with low vigor, sub alkaline, sandy soil, rich in limestone and large stones. 1400 mtrs asl
Harvest date:  Mid-October

Blend information: 100% Areni
Vinification:  Fermentation in rough concrete vats. Aging in amphorae for one year followed by further 6 months bottle aging.

Alcohol:  14%
Contains sulfites:  yes
Ideal serving temperature:  18/22°c

Tasting notes:  Bright and vertical in the mouth, with white pepper, fresh red fruit, vibrant chalky tannins and a miniral finish with a touch of graphite.

Producers comment: The 2013 is yet another step forward in showing the character of this incredible terroir. The purity of the fruit is showing even better than in previous vintages and results in a wine with plenty of energy.

Serving suggestions: Meat dishes, Wild Game ,Pork Roast, moderately aged cheeses.

Yeraz (Dry Red Wine)  armenia_thumb2

Origin:  Rind village, Vayotz Dzor region – Armenia
Climate:  A great vintage, characterised by a long warm summer. Dry until mid-September allowing harvest to be pushed back to very end of October. Dry harvest conditions resulted in grapes with good acidity and well-structured wines..
Soil:   A Phylloxera free terroir with low vigor, sub alkaline, sandy soil, rich in limestone and large stones 1600 meters asl
Harvest date: End of October  

Blend information: Field blend of Areni noir from cenntenial bush vines at 1600 mtrs asl
Vinification:  Fermentation in rough concrete vats with natural yeast.  Aging in amphorae of varying sizes for almost 2 years and a short final passage in large untoasted wooden casks to soften tannins.

Alcohol:  13,5%
Contains sulfites:  yes
Ideal serving temperature: 18/20°C

Tasting notes:  A lovely ethereal nose and fine, elegant, pure lingering flavour this wines has a distinct character of its own. Hints of spice and crushed raspberry, succulent and textured with silky tannins that soften the palate.

Producers comment:  The pinnicle of high altitude viticulture showing the great  potential of Armenian wine on world stage.

Serving suggestions: Wild game, Braised and Grilled meats, Aged cheeses and Chocolate

Voski (Dry White Wine)  armenia_thumb2

Origin:  Armenia
Climate: After one of the coldest winters on record, with temperatures hitting peaks of -20°C, 2014 was an exemplary year. Not as hot as 2013, 2014 was warm with a dry growing season characterised with strong sunlight balanced by fresh night-time temperatures. Cooler and slightly humid conditions during harvest.

Soil:   A Phylloxera free terroir with low vigor, sub alkaline, sandy soil, rich in limestone and large stones.
Harvest date:  End of September /Begining of October

Blend information: 50% Voskeat 50% Garandmak
Vinification:  Fermentation in rough concrete vats and further aging for one year always in rough concrete vats – 6 months bottle aging.

Alcohol:  13%
Contains sulfites:  yes
Ideal serving temperature: 11/13°C

Tasting notes:  Vibrant, juicy and layered with beautiful acidity that comes from the high altitudes. The floral and spicy notes give way to a full- bodied white and the final blend is like a symphony on one’s pallet.

Producers comment:  First release, with the blend of the 2 varieties complementing one another beautifully.

Serving suggestions:  Grilled fish, Light white meats, Light Pasta & Risotto’s.
